This lab introduces us to the world of programming through P5.js (Processing + JavaScript), a completely open and free programming environment.
Processing is an open-source, Java-based, easy-to-use programming language and integrated development environment that serves as a medium for teaching and producing multimedia and interactive digital design projects that can be applied to creative processes. It was initiated by Ben Fry and Casey Reas.
This multimedia environment allows multiple creations of interactive interfaces, images, animations, video games among the many possibilities of creation that this multimedia environment allows.
Do you need previous knowledge?
No. This laboratory provides the basic knowledge that will open the doors to the “encrypted” world of programming, in a simple and didactic way that will allow us to visualise the results in real time and immediately.

How long does the laboratory last?
It will be developed in an intensive way, during one week from Tuesday to Saturday from 15:00 to 18:00 hrs and the weekend from 10:30 to 13:00 hrs. If you register, please consider these times so that you can attend. If you have any questions you can contact us.
Aimed at : creators, artists, students, designers, researchers and anyone interested in learning the basic and essential notions of the programming language through a didactic and simple method.
Exhibition : The visual project you develop during the Lab will be published on the H-residency website and will be part of a group exhibition at the Pablo Neruda Art Gallery in May 2022.
The interest in presenting this laboratory lies in the need to strengthen the knowledge that allows a democratisation of technological languages. The dissemination and propagation of image animation techniques, games and design with which we interact in our daily lives.
Materials : You need a laptop (with charge) + (optional) internet on your mobile phone.
With these simple tools we will understand everything that happens “behind a screen” when we press a click, or simply push a “button”. In this way we will become part of the possibilities that programming allows us to create.
Registration required, limited places available
