Visual artist who works within the framework of Expanded Graphics, shifting printmaking towards volume and new media. His work is based on sensorial explorations in nature and archaeological sites in the Andean region of Chile and Peru, where he has been working for several years on the physical and energetic geography of the desert.
Recently he has expanded this synaesthetic exploration to wetlands in the Valparaíso region, where he currently lives.
“My work is a process of experimentation and research that I define as an expansion of graphic thought and geometric languages. Multiple crossings and resources such as drawing, printing techniques, volume, electronic circuits and artist’s books converge.
My motivation is the expansion of consciousness through interaction with nature: walking, staying, observing, feeling and listening are practices that sustain my creative process. I emphasise the geometric patterns that emerge from these practices and relate them to the study of the culture and cosmovision of South American native peoples, fundamentally in their shamanic aspect, seeking an identity heritage of our geography”.
With exhibitions in Chile, Latin America and Europe, his graphic work is of a high level, being selected in international competitions and obtaining various distinctions inside and outside the country.
